This ball will not completely correct your slice, but it can help. Just like any ball or training device, you have to meet it half way and have SOME skill. What I mean is if you shoot 110, don’t expect this ball to get you into the 90′s after one or two uses. It takes some getting use to, and don’t forget to reposition the ball in the fairway with the arrows pointing towards your shot target or else you’ll end up with a wild shot. It’s good when you’re playing by yourself or with a close buddy who won’t fuss at you when you touch the ball after every shot. Also, I don’t like the way it putts, so I replace the Polara with a Titleist or Callaway on the green. These balls are rather pricey and for the money, you may be better off trying the Top Flite XL 7000 Super Straight.

First, I will never make any money playing golf, so I don’t care one bit whether this ball conforms to any rules or not. I’m out to have fun once a week or so, and this golf ball helps me spend more time on the fairways and less time looking for balls out of bounds or in the rough. It only takes losing a couple dozen ProV1x’s to realize that an expensive golf ball does not make you a better golfer.

I have played (3) games with the Polara, and as it states, it helps correct hooks/slices. In my case it is a wicked slice, and when I connect well with the ball it travels much further than if I was hitting a conventional golf ball with a poor swing.

One very notable difference in my game is on my second shot off the fairway with a 3 or 5 wood. The ball travels much, much further than it normally would. I also do not realign the ball as it states to do by pointing the arrow towards the flag. The ball just seems to straighten itself out after being struck…

Impressed!, July 9, 2011

I love to golf and I’m really bad. I have the one of the worst slices I’ve ever seen. I’ll aim well into the trees on the left and still take my second shot from the next fairway on the right. I tried these for the first time and was quite impressed. I easily hit the straightest drives of my life. It did not fix any of my other problems. I still pushed the shot right when I was misalligned and I sculled a few shots. But, when I connected well, my shots went straight instead of making a 90 degree turn to the right. Even with the loss of distance, I had much more fun hitting from my own fairway (or short rough) than I’ve had in the past apologizing to the foursome in the next fairway I just interrupted or hunting for my ball in the thickest rough. If you have skills or are serious about your game, this is not the ball for you. But, if you’re a weekend hack like me, this ball makes your day much more enjoyable.

Penta reporting for duty !!!, September 28, 2010

I am really starting to like this ball. The overall performance is simply terrific. My normal drives from the tee box play a strong hook and now with the Penta my tee shots are on the fairway. I was determined to stop playing other golf balls besides my Z-star, but I knew the Z star was not giving me enough spin around the green. I tend to find myself chipping alot off the fringe and my first chip shot with the Penta landed 2 inches from the hole, something I never did with my other golf balls. Somehow it seems this ball is intuitive because it does what you ask it to do. It almost seems to be very forgiving too….I can’t explain it any futher until you try it out for yourself….trust me.

I do notice however that it seems a little clunky or thick, but I think with time that will go away. What I am after is lower scores and more confidence on the tee and around the greens. Regarding putting, the Penta truly shines in giving me a true, muted, and straight putt with my…

The Penta is Pentabulous!, July 28, 2010

I used to play the TP Red and they replaced it with this ball. I got them as a prize in a scramble and was very pleasantly surprised when I started playing them. The hit very well from any club. Plenty of distance (I hit my driver over 310 and I didn’t lose a yard), very forgiving on mishits, and they stop dead on the green even on low trajectory shots with my hybrid Adams A3 3-5 Irons. I plan to start playing these full time now that I have fallen completely in love with these. I only wish they were a tad bit less expensive.

Best ball I’ve played, March 27, 2011

This ball is the best I’ve ever played. It is really soft around the greens and is responsive to each different club. On off center shots it goes around the same distance, if not a little less. The ball is long off the tee and has little spin, but has a lot of spin with the wedges. I will never switch to another ball and am hooked on these. I do hope the price goes down a little, but overall the price is fair.

Excellent Choice for the Casual Golfer, April 4, 2011

I purchased these golf balls after a recommendation from a friend. After using them this past weekend at my local course, here is my take on these self-correcting golf balls.

One thing is for certain, these golf balls do reduce hook and slice. There is absolutely no doubt about it. I naturally hit a fade on most of my tee shots, and just watching the flight of the golf ball you can see that the Polara want’s to start fading but after only 40 or 50 yards it stops dead in its track and goes straight as an arrow. The golf balls seem to roll much farther as a result, so some could even say that these are extra distance balls.

They even make a big difference with your irons from short range. When you turn the side-stamp of the ball perpendicular to the green and use a lofted iron within 120yds or so, the dimples create more backspin than a normal ball would. For the first time in my life, the golf ball stopped right where it landed and on occasion it even rolled…

Quirky Balls, May 2, 2011

These balls are a bit quirky. They definitely do what they are advertised to do. They go straight unless the golfer really hits a seriously bad shot. You can actually see them “correcting” the trajectory in mid-flight. So when I am having a slicing or hooking day, I quickly switch to the Polaras. However, they also are capable of delivering some odd results. For one thing, they are prone to dive down rather precipitously. Not sure what makes this happen. They also bounce and roll forever. This is good news on a well-hit drive; they bounce and roll and add serious yardage to a good shot. However, this is bad news when hitting to a green. I just stopped using them around greens. For example, if I hit a 100-yard shot with my pitching wedge as I usually do, the Polara will hit the green, bounce twice, and then roll for another 15 yards! This can seriously foul up one’s strategy around greens.

Polara Ultimate 2 Piece balls, May 11, 2011

The 2 piece golf balls are a bit on the hard side and are not as acurate as the 3 piece balls. If you like a softer feel, I recommend the Polara Ultimate XS 3 piece balls.

I’m not a great golfer and have days of muffing, slicing, hooking, topping, and other golf evils as do most other persons who don’t play that often. However, sometimes the shots actually work and the ball goes as visualized. I’ve found golf to be highly influenced by mental attitude and confidence is the secret to many of those decent shots. With Titleist ProV-1 balls, somehow I have considerably more confidence that the ball will behave than with other brands. This has been true for Titleist balls for me for 22 years or so, and whether or not there is any technical reason why this is true (even if it’s because they’re expensive), it works this way for me. Whenever I try new snazzy brands, less expensive brands, or used balls picked up off of the fairway, things seem to go sour in a hurry. Therefore my opinion is that one would be crazy to save a few dollars on a lesser golf ball and risk not enjoying your day on the greens. The case of 4 sleeves sold through Amazon are…

These balls are the way to go if you are serious about golf.

The pro v1X’s have a softer feel and a little less spin. If you want a harder cover and more spin go with the V1.

At a ball you want to be sure you are decent enough to not loose a bunch each round.

But if you dont need to worry about loosing balls buy these and you will see a great difference in your game.

Best Ball, especially for mis-hits, November 2, 2011

This is the best ball you can get. For amateurs, this ball gives the best combination of distance, spin, and feel around and on the greens. Goes long and is durable! The Pro V1 will go farther because it will compress more for slower swing speeds, but because it is softer, and has more spin, it will also make those mis-hits of yours do a banana out of bounds. Stick with the V1x. Almost as far, less spin on drives, great feel and spin around and on the greens.
